Sonic Boom est une comédie de bande dessinée série qui est destiné aux enfants de centrage sur Sonic, avec ses amis, Tails, Amy et Knuckles, leur recherche sans fin pour l' aventure et leurs batailles avec leur nemesis Eggman. D' autres personnages, à la fois anciens et nouveaux, se joindront également à l'ensemble.

Sonic est un hérisson qui passe la plupart du temps avec son meilleur ami Tails, un renard sachant voler grâce à ses deux queues qui se transforment en hélices d'hélicoptère. Mais les deux compères doivent faire face au méchant Docteur Robotnik qui veut conquérir la Terre ce qui passe par la construction de robots. Seulement tout ne se passe tout à fait comme prévu. Son premier robot, Coconut, un singe avec une ampoule sur la tête, se fait toujours malmener par Sonic malgré toute sa bonne volonté. Alors Robotnik décide de construire peu après un nouveau robot censé être plus performant et incarné par Scratch, un robot grand et mince avec une tête de coq. Pas assez convaincu, Robotnik décide de faire une copie de Scratch. Mais une bêtise de ce dernier (qui abaisse une manette qu'il ne fallait pas baisser!) fait naître Grounder, un petit robot vert qui possède de nombreux gadgets mais qui est aussi stupide que son "jumeau" avec qui il deviendra très vite inséparable malgré leurs nombreuses disputes. Sonic et Tails passeront leur temps à sauver les gens et eux-mêmes des plans machiavéliques exécutés par les robots pas très malins de Robotnik ; un travail peu difficile pour nos héros...
