Biography

Is a Japanese musician, singer-songwriter, composer, record producer and actor. With a career spanning more than 40 years, Hotei claims record sales of over 40 million copies and has collaborated with acclaimed artists from around the world. Hotei first rose to prominence in the 1980s as the guitarist for Boøwy, one of Japan's most popular rock bands, before starting a solo career.

A one-night-only special live held in front of the Great Buddha Hall of Todaiji Temple in Nara in October 2008, The long-awaited DVD release of the GUITARHYTHM V TOUR held from April ~ June this year! On October 18, 2008, for the first time in 14 years, Torayasu Fubukuro stood on the stage of the Great Buddha Hall of Todaiji Temple, and the audience was enveloped in a fantastic sound universe using a 3D surround system. The sense of realism is completely reproduced in 5.1 channel surround. Special guests include opera singer Michiki Nakamaru, dance performance by H. R. Chaos, and Japanese drummer Leonard Eto.

BOØWY's final performance "LAST GIGS" held for two days from April 4th to April 5th of the same year was recorded, and 12 songs out of a total of 23 songs performed on April 5th were recorded. A wide range of songs have been selected, from their debut album "MORAL" (1982) to their last album, "PSYCHOPATH" (1987), but not a single song was included because the songs from their second album "INSTANT LOVE" (1983) were not played.
