# The Story of Maryam The story of Maryam who reluctantly accepts the reality of being forced into a polygamous marriage by her husband Iskandar at the request of her father-in-law Haji Ismail. Her mother-in-law, Hajah Siah, disagrees but is forced to accept her husband's request on the grounds that they have been married for 10 years but have no grandchildren. The arrival of Sofia as his second wife, who has a child named Sara, is accepted albeit bitterly by Maryam.
