Ganbatte Ikimasshoi was a Japanese television drama for NTV about a girl who wants to start an all-girl rowing team. To do so she needs to find at least four other members. She is met with many challenges during each episode, e.g., finding enough members, bearing the weight of being captain, going through training, and experiencing some setbacks. With the help of her coach, childhood friend Sekino Hiroyuki, and the boys' rowing team, she and her team are able to overcome those obstacles. Ganbatte Ikimasshoi is a sports drama about hope, hard work, and perseverance.

It has already been adapted as a television drama and a stage play in that country. On February 4, Shogakukan is publishing the book in Japan under the title “Good Life.” Sorimachi plays the part of Daichi Sawamoto, a newspaper reporter who has always prioritized his work over his family. When his wife suddenly leaves him, he finally notices the love he has been receiving from his son. Just as he decides to answer back, it is discovered that his son has leukemia.
The theme of this drama series is the bonds between parents and children and between husband and wife. What does it mean to love another person? What does it mean to live? And what is true happiness? Koichi eventually moved overseas and changed his name. He became a swindler.
Shingo Okazaki is a young man devoted to his mother to a degree that's rare in Japan. Hanako is a mother, who was not enthusiastic when her husband took in two foster children some years ago. He died not long afterward, leaving her alone to care for the youngsters, Koya and Torataro, a task that she rose to with a passion. As the two boys graduate from high school, Hanako has become not only a devoted parent but the neighborhood's most reliable mother in the Osaka style: strong, responsible, irreverent. After the two boys leave school they also leave home, though Torataro continues to work in the family factory. Koya secures employment at a restaurant, where he is forced to put up with the bullying of an older colleague. Unable to take it any more, he runs away, and Hanako and Torataro look for him. They eventually find him pursuing his dream of becoming a professional musician.
The hospitality division in Kochi Prefecture can't promote the beautiful nature in the area due to a strict rule by the prefecture government. Popular writer and Kochi area native Kyosuke Yoshikado is appointed as a special envoy for tourism in the area. He then receives a recommendation to meet Seien, a former employee of Kochi Prefecture, who once hatched an unusual idea to promote tourism. Seien pushed forward a project to import pandas into the area, but lost his job because of that project. Meanwhile, hospitality division employees Fumitaka and Taki visits the tourist house which is run by Seien and his daughter. When they arrive, the daughter throws a bucket of water at them, still angry for the way her father was dismissed from his job. From there, a plan for the hospitality division is born.
