Mais voici que le plus grand colporteur de ragots de Trévise, Scarabello, apprend à Castellani qu'en réalité l'infirmité prétendue de Gasparini n'est pour lui qu'un alibi opportun...

Checco, an uneducated but self-satisfied fellow from Milan, who has always dreamed of becoming a police officer, fails his entrance exam for the third time.
