L'action se situe dans la ville fictive de Chuggington, et narre les aventures de trois jeunes locomotives, appelées Wilson, Bruno et Koko; ce sont des versions animées de locomotives américaines, britanniques et japonaises des années soixante.

La série se déroule dans la ville fictive de Busytown et met en vedette principalement Huckle Cat, Lowly Worm et beaucoup d'autres habitants de Busytown. Chaque «humain» de la série est un animal anthropomorphe, le plus souvent des cochons, des renards, des races de chiens, des souris, des lapins, des chèvres et des chats. Chaque épisode comporte toujours un conflit (qui est finalement résolu à la fin). Cependant, des épisodes mettant en scène d'autres animaux anthropomorphes, comme Couscous capturant Pépé le Gangstaire et ses rats sales, Sam et Dudley, Sneef, Concombres et Cornichons, etc. ont eu lieu à l'extérieur de Busytown dans d'autres endroits du monde.

Les Minipouss sont de petites créatures, mi-hommes et mi-souris, vivant secrètement parmi nous : dans nos murs, nos greniers, nos jardins... Éric Legrand, un garçon de douze ans, est l'un des rares humains à connaître leur existence. Il devient rapidement le meilleur ami de quelques-uns d'entre eux : Tom, sa sœur Lucie, leur cousin maladroit Charlie Mini et le doyen râleur Grand Pa. Tous ensemble vont lutter contre le professeur Chassard et son assistant qui souhaitent dévoiler au monde entier l'existence des Minipouss...

This is the first Pooh show where Jim Cummings voices Tigger filling in for the late Paul Winchell. It was shown in U.K on a Channel 5 Block known as 'Milkshake!' as well as Playhouse Disney. It's run on Milkshake! ended around 2006 to 2007.
