Baretta is an American detective television series which ran on ABC from 1975 to 1978. When Musante left the series after a single season, the concept was retooled as Baretta, with Robert Blake in the title role.

The telenovela will be an adaptation of the 2003 Venezuelan telenovela Cosita Rica written by Leonardo Padrón. Ana Lorena Sánchez and Christian Meier will star as the main protagonists while Pedro Moreno and Zuleyka Rivera will portray the main antagonists.
