Synopsis
Anna Andreevna, who has spent her entire life working as a schoolteacher, retires and buys a summer house in a small village. Her neighbor turns out to be Taisia, a former milkmaid. Despite the difference in their education and life experience, the two women become close friends — they discover they have much in common in their life stories. Just as strong a friendship develops between their grandchildren, Dima and Masha. They will have to support each other through many difficult moments. When Masha’s mother dies before the eyes of eleven-year-old Masha, Dmitry does everything he can to take care of her. But soon he will need Masha’s care as well: a year later, his parents are killed in a plane crash. Years pass. Masha’s childhood attachment grows into true love — but Dmitry marries someone else…
