The film takes place in 1973 during the Yom Kippur War in which Egypt and Syria launched attacks in Sinai and the Golan Heights. The story is told from the perspective of Israeli soldiers. We are led by Weinraub and his friend Ruso on a day that begins with quiet city streets, but ends with death, destruction and devastation of both body and mind. Various scenes are awash in the surreal, as Weinraub's head hangs out over a rescue helicopter's open door, watching with tranquil desperation as the earth passes beneath, the overpowering whir of the blades creating a hypnotic state. It is not a traditional blood, guts and glory film. There are no men in battle, only the rescue crew trying to pick up the broken pieces.

Bruck, a Hungarian concentration camp-survivor, settled in Italy after the Second World War and wrote about her experiences in autobiographical and fictional formats.[1] The film stars Geraldine Chaplin and Nino Castelnuovo.

As a young boy, future emperor Nero witnesses the mad Emperor Caligula kill his father and exile his mother. While in exile in the pontine islands, Agrippina, his mother, sees a vision telling her that her son can become emperor, but she will have to die first. She accepts the proposal. Back in Rome, Nero, now being raised by emperor Claudius after Caligula's death, Agrippina returns. She poisons Claudius' food and Nero becomes emperor. At first, Nero cuts taxes and introduces successful programs and invades Brittania. Soon he meets a beautiful slave named Claudia Acte, and marries her, throwing off his engagement with Claudius' daughter, Claudia Octavia, telling her she can marry someone she will be happy with. Heartbroken, she arrives at an island and kills herself. Nero enjoys being married to Claudia Acte, but soon he gradually goes mad with power and sets fire to Rome.

Paul Touvier, a former member of the Vichy Militia, was sentenced to death in 1947 for war crimes but evaded justice thanks to the support of the Church and the statute of limitations, which expired in 1967. In 1973, he received a presidential pardon from Pompidou, but an investigation led to the reopening of proceedings for crimes against humanity, for which there is no statute of limitations. Hunted down, he was arrested in 1989 at the Saint-Joseph Priory in Nice. His trial began in March 1994, shedding light on the role of the Milice, the armed wing of the collaboration, and of Vichy. Touvier was charged with complicity in crimes against humanity for the execution of seven Jews in retaliation for the assassination of a propagandist. His personal notebooks reveal his anti-Semitism. On April 20, 1994, he was sentenced to life imprisonment and died in 1997. This trial sparked a debate on the responsibility of the French state during the Occupation.
