Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".
A West German concern is conducting secret negotiations on the production of an atomic bomb with an interested state. The son of the head of the concern, realizing the monstrosity and scale of his father's activities, interrupts the negotiations and returns home with the intention to publicize his father's activities.
Osip Dymov, the titular counselor and the doctor of thirty one years, serves in two hospitals at the same time: intern and anatomist. From nine o'clock in the morning and in the forenoon accepts patients, then goes to open corpses. But its income is hardly enough for a covering of expenses of the wife mad about talents and celebrities in the art and artistic environment whom it daily accepts in the house.
The film is dedicated to the working class. On the example of the fates of the main characters, their biographies and characters, it reveals such urgent problems as the attitude of a working man to labor, the conformity of his inclinations to his chosen profession. The obsession of the heroes and their complete dedication to their favorite work is the core of the script's dramaturgy. For both Nyurka and Mikhail Antonovich, the factory is their home, with which their entire lives are connected.

Henry Davis (Alexander Belyavsky) dreamed of being an art historian, but became a military pilot. His work is associated with risk, but the hero is satisfied with a decent income. Performing a reconnaissance flight, Henry invades the airspace of the Soviet Union and comes under fire from border anti-aircraft guns. Davis barely manages to make it to the base. He is presented with an award and offered to prepare to fly a new super-fast airplane.
