John Petrizzelli Font (Caracas, June 8, 1956) is a Venezuelan journalist, writer, screenwriter, photographer and film director.
Known For

The film tells the story of a parrot who after being sold to traffickers of animals as a child at the time of Marcos Pérez Jiménez, passes from hand to hand all his life and changing its name depending on your business, while being observed before his eyes the evolution of Venezuela for 50 years (1950 to 2000).
Er relajo der Loro

Tierna es la Noche is a film without bullets nor sea, without mosquitoes, without peasants nor flowers. It only contains a barman, a man and a beautiful woman who lives in a bathroom. For commercial reasons, we have included two policemen, a drop of blood and a multilingual nymphomaniac. For aesthetic reasons, a tear and a black man. For both reasons, the film takes place anachronically, during the fifties and nineties in a make-believe city called Caracas. It's a story of histerics, like all stories, unfinished.

Barbara is a fanciful drag queen who steals a valuable briefcase and runs to the plains. He crosses path with Sixto, a young farmer escaping from a drug lord. They join in a dangerous journey through harsh lands and their relationship grows from conflict and mistrust into an particular friendship.

Inspired by the discrimination suffered by his uncle RamĂłn because of his sexual condition, John Petrizzelli uses the screen to narrate the life of different people who have something in common: sexual-diversity. The stories feature from the anecdotal to the transcendental, looking for the intimate world of old age without losing sight of the life of each character with different ways of looking at aging, loneliness and death.

The film explores the pantheon of our popular beliefs and the collective imaginary that venerates it, dreams it and represents it in naive paintings, religious stamps, carvings and popular sculptures; as well as in the oral tradition that proclaims its many miracles and healing.
