Adela and her baby move to Madrid in search of a new start after a tough separation. Antonia is a shop owner with three adult daughters. The film is divided into five chapters revolving around their health, work, relationships and money.

The first work from Fernando Franco revolves around Ana, a 30 year old ambulance driver. Though good at her job, Ana has problems relating in her personal life. She doesn't know it, but she suffers from a condition known by psychiatrists as Borderline Personality Disorder. The situation pushes her to outbreaks of self-destructive behaviour, alcohol abuse and self-harm. Ana is incapable of getting what she wants most: to be happy.

Natalia and Carlos, both aged 20, are in love and struggling to survive in today’s Spain. Their limited resources prevent them from getting ahead as they’d like to. They have no great ambitions because they have no great hopes. To earn some money, they decide to shoot an amateur porno film. The birth of their daughter Julia is the main catalyst for the changes they make.

Abel lives with his mother in a small town on the outskirts of Barcelona. His life, grey and boring, is based on the small family business, his mother's house, his girlfriend's bed, and the town bars. However under an appearance of quiet and gentle man, Abel hides a dark and morbid personality.

Oriol and Yolanda live in Paris with their two daughters. During a holiday they have a car accident. Celia, their older daughter, dies and Oriol goes into a coma.

This film is the result of a passion shared between Béatrice Soulé and Eric Serra, music composer of The Big Blue, for the exceptional talent of Doudou N'Diaye Rose, percussionist and rhythm teacher at the National Art Institute of Dakar. It was crucial for them to keep a track of the rhythm of the major drum leader of Senegal and they organized in the Island of Gnor a concert that this film restores us. Under the small amphitheater made of stone, the great virtuoso give us to see and listen to a great moment of joy because Doudou N'Diaye Rose dances as much as he drums. And for the fifty percussionists and one hundred members of the Julien Jouge's church choir, this is also the celebration of the bodies.
