Biography
Matevž Luzar (born 1981) is a Slovenian director and screenwriter. He broke into the film scene with his two student films, which were then concluded into an unofficial trilogy with his debut feature Happy to Die (2013). This was followed by a longer shift into genre waters: with the film Girls Don't Cry (2015) and the series Lake, Lenin's Park, and Valley of the Roses, which brought some genre freshness to Slovenian television screens. The film Orkester (2022), which was six years in the making, is his most recent feature.

Slovenian Girl

In the middle of a hot summer, a homeless woman is murdered in the centre of Ljubljana. At least as much as her death is troubled by the fact that the murder took place in a park right next to the General Police Administration. In addition to Taras's and Tina's relationship, resentment is being drawn from the events at Lake Bohinj over Taras' treatment of the spoiled son of an influential man, so the head of Drvarič assigns the management of the case to Tini instead of Taras. The start of the investigation is not the most promising, as none of the occupants of the park detected anything unusual, even though the windows look out of all the apartments. Yet a criminal investigation reveals that one of them wasn't the most honest.
Lenin's Park

After the bad outcome of the criminal operation in Lenin Park, Taras decides on a new career path, private detective. First, it is rented by Klara Zupet, a wealthy daughter from Ljubljana. She wants Taras to investigate the new wife of her rich father, the influential entrepreneur Zupet, as she is convinced that she is only with him for self-interest.
Valley of Roses

Meet Ela: a mother of three, a wife, a friend, and a career woman. To juggle it all, she is often economical with the truth, trying to get herself out of this or that mess. The lies are mostly little, white, and harmless. Every now and then, not so much.

However, the exact opposite happens: for the first time in his life Ivan starts to actually live.

During his vacation, Piksi finds his brother's cassettes in the basement and spends three days listening to rock music, which changes his life. He decides to start his own punk rock band. The band consists of Piksi (electric guitar), Pejo (bass guitar), Sani (drums), and Edi (vocals). At first, they called themselves Avtsajders, then Ilegalci. Their idol is Johny Thunders. Piksi's father spends all his time lying in front of the television.

So he borrows his neighbor's dog, Wolfy, takes him to the park, and his plan works. He finds people to talk to - but he forgets about Wolfy and the dog is gone. What is he going to tell his neighbor?
Wolfy

Father is dying at home. The pastor orders Janez and Marinka to call his son Štefan before he dies. Since father and son are at odds, Janez and Marinka are afraid that Štefan will not want to come. Therefore, at the approaching harvest, they lure him with the lie that his father is already dead. Despite the poor medical prognosis, the father is still alive when his son arrives.
