In an attempt to try and tame young city girl Charlotte Rowland, Bill Coryell, a young rancher, plans a fake kidnapping party from which he is to rescue her. However, a bully interferes and incites her against Bill, but Charlotte discovers the ruse in time to save herself and Coryell.

Larry Day, foreman of the 3X Ranch, and his men are pursuing a gang of rustlers when Jake Landis, who is being forced into rustling by Thorne, the bandit chief, is saved by his daughter Jeanne, who gives him her horse and then confronts Larry. They soon fall in love. Meanwhile, a wandering horse leads the men to Landis, who is then arrested and locked up at the ranch. Jeanne attends a dance at the ranch, and Jeff Thorne threatens to accuse her father of the commission of all their crimes unless she agrees to marry him. Larry overhears, and the rustlers meet head on with the ranch men and are captured. Larry and Jeanne are united.

Attracted to ranch owner Doris Hampton, Jack O'Neil impersonates convict "Angel Face" Harry, who is to be released from prison (a reform measure) to work on Doris' ranch. Jack discovers that Doris' cattle are being stolen by her foreman, Steve Gore, finds Gore's hiding place, and keeps him at bay until Doris rides up at the critical moment with help.
Cattlemen use Alamo Pass in order to get their cattle to market. A gang has taken it over and charges a toll to go through it. When one rancher doesn't have enough money to pay the toll, he winds up dead. A local rancher, Bill Bowers, investigates the killing, but his neighbor and rival Molly Spellman decides to take her cattle around the pass instead of through it to avoid the toll. The gangsters kidnap her, and Bill gathers the other ranchers in the area for a final showdown with the gang.

A remake of 1930's "Phantom of the Desert", in which a crooked foreman and the ranch hands are rustling horses, and laying the blame on a wild stallion that roams the surrounding hills.In this one the principals are Jim/Cheyenne(Rex Lease) as the cowhand that comes along and clears the horse,Starlight;the crooked foreman is Clyde Winslow(Harry Woods), while Helen Sutter(Dorothy Gulliver) is the daughter of ranch owner Frank Sutter(Jay Hunt.) This one was remade at least four more times by 1940.
A cowboy begins to do such un-cowboylike things as dressing up and taking baths in order to impress a pretty young girl. He sees that a citified "dandy" is also after the girl, and the dude seems to be scoring some points with his "civilized" demeanor.
