When she takes up her new post at an eerie convalescent home deep in the French countryside, nurse Martine soon discovers that several missing co-workers may have fallen prey to an unspeakable evil rumored to roam the hallways at night. But as Martine looks deeper into the mystery, she suspects the home's aged residents know more about the menace than they let on.

A fraudulent builder has planned to spend a few of days in Switzerland to hide his hoard in a swiss bank at once. Unfortunately an inspector of the Internal Revenue department is going to come and go over the firm's books.

The story is about Arnault (J. Gatteau) trying to educate himself a virgin wife by keeping Betty (Lise Pinson) effectively prisoner in the country house of her foster parents (Lemieuvre & Barthel). This does not work, Betty falls in love with some young guitar player (the guy looks a bit like Woody Harrelson, but with hair), and after raping her out of bitterness, Arnault is back to his usual female companions, whores.
