A series of interconnected short films are the backdrop for a maniac screenwriter who pitches insane storylines featuring some of Hollywood's biggest and brightest. In some countries, like the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, the structure differs. Instead of a pitch, the films are connected by a group of three teenagers searching for the most banned film in the world, Movie 43, which will ultimately lead to the destruction of civilization.

Ten-year-old Lisa, bullied in the decaying town of Rosenhill, finds a book that teaches her to become a superhero. As "Red Mask," she must face a ruthless crime boss and her fears, learning that true heroism lies in compassion and courage.

12-year-old Mariana and her stepbrother Marcus end up in a home-built rocket. Behind the rocket construction are Albert, a slightly crazy scientist, and his helper Lemming, a talking lemming.

Emma Bergkvist lives with her sister Josefin, mother Carola, father Pierre, and nanny Åsa in a house outside Stockholm. Her father is a researcher at Swedish Energy Testing and has found a solution to the world's energy problems. He has succeeded in extracting energy from pure water. It is nighttime, and an intruder has broken into the house. The flashlight shines on the sleeping children. Emma wakes up and calls for her mother, who comes and tries to comfort her from her nightmares. Emma insists that they are not nightmares, but that there are thieves in the house.

Malmö FF's golden dreams from the mid-1990s have turned into despair and foreboding. In 1999, something happened that had never happened before; the club leaves the Allsvenskan on its own initiative, after having underperformed sportingly for a long time. Many within the association are shocked and paralyzed, but a young promising striker in Zlatan Ibrahimović and a newly appointed sporting director in Hasse Borg become the club's new hope for the future.

A film about making a film. Following a production team and their movie director trying to make a BIG action movie about the people of Norrland (a place in northern Sweden). The project fails, but everyone learns something about themselves in the process.

A woman wakes up in the middle of nowhere to see in a mirror her reflection ten seconds ahead of her time. When she wakes up again the nightmare has just started over.
