A group of travelers find themselves stranded for the night at a deserted train station, which according to the old stationmaster, has been haunted for the last 20 years.

Worried about the ‘declining morals’ of 1950s Amsterdam, taxi driver Piet Amstel decides to emigrate to Australia. The government drive to build atomic shelters and the incessant Dutch rain only strengthen his purpose, as Amstel figures sunny Australia would make a positive change for his family. But first he needs to bring his daughter and her criminal boyfriend back on the right path.

In 1975, his graduation year at the Film Academy, director Gerrit van Elst captured his relationship with his father and mother and how they opposed their only child’s decision to go and study in faraway Amsterdam. Twenty-nine years later, he and his camera crew are back at his - now seriously infirm - parents. For this film, Van Elst cross-edited the footage of then and now. A revealing observation of growing old and approaching death.

Myrte and the Demons is a hallucinatory trip through a world shot in chiaroscuro in which lugubrious forest spirits take human forms at night. Myrte, symbol of good, enters into battle with evil, aided by a colorful group of fantasy creatures, including the moon. Special: Bert Haanstra made his film debut as a cameraman on the set of Myrte en de Demonen.

When his colleague presents him with (forged) evidence of his wife Sylvette's unfaithfulness, factory owner Jean Sourdier kills him in a fit of rage. After fifteen years in prison he is determined to take revenge on his wife by killing Ninette, a daughter from her second marriage.

When the Netherlands banned the fox-hunt in 2002, the wily canine seized its chance and infiltrated new habitats, threatening other protected species. In 2006, the Dutch government legalized the fox-hunt again. What is the meaning of this? Is man deciding the fox’s fate? Or will its instinct for survival prove stronger?
