They are recruited before they get access to classified information, sometimes even before they start working in the field that interests the recruiting party. They are often recruited "to grow up". The action takes place in Moscow in June 2013 on the eve of major geopolitical events and upheavals that, as a result, will change the future life of the world.

Besieged Leningrad was dying of hunger: 125 grams of bread per day were given to employees, dependents and children. It was then that a gang appeared in the city, engaged in fraud and robbery. The criminals were mainly engaged in forgery of food cards. The name of their gang, ZIG ZAG, stood for "Defenders of German Interests —The Banner of Adolf Hitler."
