Chester Beatty and Tessie Weeks have been engaged for 5 years and going together for 15 years before that. Chester is reluctant to burden Tessie with marriage because of his secret problem. He is a sleepwalker. When Tessie finally does rope Chester into marriage, he can't get time off from his boss of 26 years, Mr. Frisbee. To resolve the problem, Chester sets out to impress his boss by securing a big sales contract of glass eyes. He takes Tessie and follows the rich doll company owner Horace B. Stanton to a lakeside resort and befriends him. However, his sleep-walking makes him a prime suspect in a thievery/murder case.

The story of Dr. Charles Randolph, a scientist dedicated to deciphering the secrets of life and death. Aided by assistant David Cochran, Charles conducts experiments that have horrifying side effects. Charles's lonely wife, Elaine, is frightened by his work, and in order to protect her, housekeeper Maria unleashes a torrent of voodoo that wrecks havoc.

Jack's honeymoon is interrupted by a letter from a former sweetheart threatening the exposure of a number of ardent love letters unless he remits $5,000. The letter falls into the hands of his wife and they contrive separately to recover the damaging missives. Each disguises as a Swedish servant girl and both are employed by the holder of the letters. They recover the letters after ransacking the house, and make their getaway after a number of exciting and humorous incidents.

The stooges are down and out. With a cop chasing them, they flee into an artists studio where they are mistaken for students. The cop continues to hunt for them and they use a variety of disguises and tactics to elude him. A wild clay throwing fight ends the film.

Young Dick is pursuing pretty young Mary, but so are a lot of other young men. Dick decides to impersonate her butler and uses that position to keep all of Mary's suitors out of the house so he can work on her himself. When his ruse is discovered, he is thrown out of the house. That, however, doesn't stop him. He gets the maid to help him concoct a story about Mary actually being bald and having false teeth, hoping to drive them away. It works, but it doesn't quite have the effect he intended it to.

When his aunt disapproves of his marriage to Mabel Deering and threatens to disinherit him, Percy elicits the aid of his buddy Billy Haskell, who is engaged to Eileen Stanley. It is arranged that Billy and Mabel be found together in compromising circumstances by Percy and his aunt, but matters are complicated by the arrival of Billy's uncle in the city, and Aunt Emma becomes very fond of him. All is subsequently explained and thoughts of "divorce" are smoothed away as Uncle Todd couples up with Aunt Emma, and Billy and Eileen, and Percy and Mabel, reinstitute their carefree engagements.

It's a burlesque of a melodrama in which all the parts are taken by birds. There's lots to be offended by, given that it's a talking comedy, with lots of stereotyped voices, and so forth, and it's not too long before you get tired of the gimmick.

Smugglers are on the loose and a thriving black market in salami is plaguing the nation. Clark and McCullough are hired to catch the smugglers. They are soon up to their ears in salami.

Gertie and Jimmie want to get married and go on a honeymoon. They have the license and the tickets, but have to get past her strict father.

Three young men, struggling to find their next meal, encounter a young lady with an injured ankle. One of the men is a doctor, who maintains a charade of success with his wealthy uncle, in which the uncle believes the young man to be well-off and married to a (fictitious) wife named Mary Jane Smith. The young doctor falls in love with the girl of the injured ankle and discovers that her name is Mary Jane Smith.

Neal hates to give up his evenings with "the boys." even for his wife Betty. She gets a burglar scare and insists on his staying home. However, he wants to go to a masked ball, so he gives her a powder, telling her it will make her sleep soundly. She slips the powder into his favorite decanter, hides his costume, and then retires. In the kitchen, the cook gives a policeman some of the doped whiskey. Neal takes the cop's coat, hat, and stick and starts for the ball. On the way he is called on to restrain a wife-beating husband. He gets a black eye, so decides to go home.

The movie starts out with Marie as The Girl in the Case in love with Neal Burns, “Her Sweetheart.” But her dad wants her to marry someone else (Chester Conklin) and takes her away on vacation to get her away from Her Sweetheart. He follows them, disguised as a widow. There is a genuinely funny scene where Marie is disguised as a man to go meet her boyfriend disguised as a widow, and slapstick happens which results in Chester being found in his underpants with the widow in a barn.

Process server Neal Burns raids a hospital to bring a reluctant doctor to trial.

A husband wants to slip out of the house to go to a poker game, but his wife catches him, and he is forced to stay at home and mind her sister's baby. Neal goes to the poker game and takes the baby with him, but absentmindedly leaves him there when he goes home.
