Based on the life of a legendary capoeira fighter from Bahia, "Besouro" spins a fantastic tale of a young Brazilian man of African descent in search of his mission.

Brazilian badlands, April 1910. Tonho is ordered by his father to avenge the death of his older brother. The young man knows that if he commits this crime, his life will be divided in two: the twenty years he has already lived and the few days he has left to live, before the other family avenges their son's death. He is torn between fulfilling his ancestral duty and rebelling against it, urged by his younger brother Pacu. That's when a tiny travelling circus passes through the vast badlands where Tonho's family lives.

In the backlands of Goiás, Brazil, brutish men who cannot deal with their weaknesses are constantly abandoned by the women they love. Sad and bitter, these men turn violently against each other.

When the Netuno Circus returns to Fernando de Noronha, it brings back a young man with a turbulent past. Pedro is now Zolah, the human cannonball. When secrets surface, bizarre family reunions rival the circus performances.

A group of friends travels to a beach house on an island on the brazilian seaside to celebrate the end of high school, a place virtually no one else inhabits and which is almost always dark. However, their drollery and parties are cut short by the feeling that the place shelters an unfathomable horror.
