The Danish national police branch PET is in charge of personal protection, mainly of politicians and royal family. That also involves preventive work concerning terrorism, stalking etcetera. Meanwhile several team members must keep op top of personal concerns, such as ethnic background-related concerns and relational troubles at home.

Bella's father died tragically, and now the teenage girl lives in close proximity to her mother, Maj. They protect each other from the outside world, so to speak, but one day the outside world knocks on their door. Maj meets a new man, and Bella becomes involved in helping a young Bosnian refugee obtain asylum. Has Maj let go of her daughter too soon? Is Bella capable of helping both herself and others?

As the 30-year crisis looms, five older young people in Copenhagen find good reason to reconsider their lives. And Mads is a professional soccer player who has to deal with his own and everyone else's expectations. All of them come to realize that when you are forced to make a choice without knowing the consequences in advance, it can be more than difficult to figure out the next step.

A middle-aged couple embarks on a road trip to pick up a boat that they have bought. As they drive through the country suppressed feelings and fears start to re-surface. As they arrive at their final destination they face the blank ocean and realize that they have completely lost their grip on life.
