Saeed Kangarani

An uproarious adoption of a popular novel by Iraj Pezeshkzad set in and around the family compound in early 1940s Tehran, marvelously rich in personality and incident. The title character, so-called because of his constant invocation of the general, rules over a wonderfully complex extended family. A hilarious series which makes fun of just about everything.

Shirin leads a peaceful life in Iranian good middle-class, until the day her uncle Saeed asks her father to hire her in his travel agency. She finally decides to work. Her destiny changes, as she meets a young and attractive American, who goes to the agency to buy a plane ticket for Shiraz, the city of roses and poets.

Ali and his father go from their poor neighborhood in the outskirts of the city to a hospital so that Ali's father can be treated for his sickness. However since they have no money, Ali starts to work for Dr. Sameri who deals in blood.

Parvaneh, a famous singer and movie star, has an affair with a married man. A student named Baabak, who suffers from leukaemia, falls in love with Parvaneh. They have a good time together for a while, until she hears about Baabak's disease and decides to send him abroad for medical treatment.

Lord is the great house of happiness. His daughter Maryam and Sohrab, Saadat's son, become interested in each other. One day, the two are captured by the gendarmes, and Saadat, after guaranteeing them, forbids his son from continuing the relationship with Maryam, and in order to prevent their relationship, he orders two people to monitor Sohrab. Sohrab continues his relationship with Maryam and does not heed his father's warnings. Maryam's father also blames his wife and daughter for continuing the relationship. Sohrab and Maryam decide to run away from home. Before leaving, the two eat poisonous contaminated food that Sohrab's mother feeds the neighborhood's stray dogs. Sohrab and Maryam live together in a carousel.

Davoud Najafi lives with his father Rahman who is the custodian of a small company and his disabled brother Ne'mat. His sister Aghdas is pregnant and her husband is away in Kuwait, so they have to bear her expenses too. Davoud loves film making and is in love with Nahid. He brings a camera and tries to steal the company while filming himself. They fired his father Rahman and he too throws Davoud out of the house.
