Biography
Akkemay was bij haar doorbraak een scholiere op het Barlaeus Gymnasium in Amsterdam. Ze debuteerde in 1982 met een kleine bijrol in de film Het beest met Willem Ruis in de hoofdrol. In datzelfde jaar had ze een grotere rol in Menuet van regisseuse Lili Rademakers. In 1984 had de op dat moment vijftienjarige Akkemay een hoofdrol in de film Schatjes! van regisseur Ruud van Hemert. De film werd een groot kassucces en trok meer dan een miljoen bezoekers. In het vervolg Mama is boos! keerde Akkemay niet terug. Wel speelde ze in 1986 een belangrijke rol in De aanslag van Fons Rademakers als dochter van Anton Steenwijk. In de jaren negentig was Akkemay te zien in de televisieseries De Vereenigde Algemeene (1992), Oppassen!!! (1993) en Vrouwenvleugel (1994). In de komedieserie Kees & Co had ze als Christine een terugkerende rol. Ze stond op het toneel in de voorstellingen De glorieuze come-back van Coco (1991) en Warenhuis (1993) en was te horen in het hoorspel Het hoofd van Haydn (1992). This is the life of Kees Heistee. At the end of WWII the Dutch resistance kills a German officer in front of the house of a Dutch family. Years after the war the young boy who witnessed the killing runs into the members of the resistance who committed the killing.
The Assault
A factory worker is employed in the desolate, cold-storage cellars of a brewery. His spare time he devotes to collecting romantic images of wild flowers and sticking newspaper cuttings in an album, demonstrating a preference for more gruesome stories. Murders, rapes and acts of violence are the events which accompany his everyday existence and invest it with a tinge of color.

A peaceful family-life is suddenly disturbed when the children enter puberty. The children take over the house and disrupt the lives of their parents.

When he finds out that his company has expropriated his own mother, a successful young manager gets deeply upset. Money and power now have a different meaning. He needs to struggle against his own self and stake everything in order to reorganize true values in his life. His career is at stake. When his mother dies in the pension she's been put, his point of limit is reached. He feels responsible and takes revenge through terrorist actions. The beast explodes.
