The story stretches from 1863 to 1945. Its main characters are representatives of the Pasternik family, who live in the fictional village of Wielowice near Pszczyna. The protagonist of the first three episodes is Franciszek Pasternik, the following parts tell about the fate of his many children and even more grandchildren. The viewer follows their history against the backdrop of great changes and historical events that influenced the lives of Silesian Poles. So there is the Kulturkampf, Prussian rugi, the revolution of 1905, World War I and the Silesian Uprisings.

A commune built around the pursuit of spiritual perfection through the occult begins to see its prophecies come true.

“Laura” is based on a true story about a dramatic search and rescue mission at Halemba coal mine that gripped Poland in February of 2006. A miner was trapped underground, and by the fourth day when everyone was beginning to lose hope of his safe return, the rescue team heard a faint knocking on the pipeline. After a nearly a week long search, the miner was rescued. Those who followed the story closely called it a miracle. But the miner claimed that what saved him was stronger than a miracle – his love for his daughter Laura, and his wife Marlena.

Based on actual events in 1982, the film recreates a hostage-taking in Switzerland. Four men storm the Polish embassy: a criminal, a crazed killer, a student and an idealist. When the embassy is stormed by the police, the four captors react differently.

Adam survived a car accident that killed his partner, Basia, and his best friend, Kamil. From that moment, Adam, a poet and promising university literature professor, gave up teaching and found work and refuge in a shopping mall. Reading the Divine Comedy and sleeping provide him with respite from the tormenting pain. In his sleep, he can visit a parallel world where he encounters loved ones and ghosts of his imagination. Added to his personal suffering is that of Poland, devastated by natural and political disasters throughout 2010. Adam, like Dante with Beatrice, continues to have one goal before him: to find his beloved Basia.

Customs officer Andrzej Lechicki is arrested on charges of smuggling antiques. The defense of the accused is undertaken by attorney Sokor.

A student who works part-time as a milk carrier, conducts a private investigation into the mysterious death of an old woman. While riding the elevator, he feels as if he saw the face of an elderly woman who died that particular day. Unfortunately, the police and ORMO quite effectively discourage the student from seeking the truth.
