When Dana White took over the UFC in 2001, one of the new UFC President's first tasks was to scour the MMA backwaters searching for undiscovered talent to sign to the UFC. Validation was the first UFC event held in New Jersey since June 4, 2005's UFC 53: Heavy Hitters in Atlantic City. The main event featured TUF 2 Heavyweight winner Rashad Evans against TUF 3 Light Heavyweight winner Michael Bisping in a light heavyweight contest.

UFC 281: Adesanya vs. Pereira was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that took place on November 12, 2022, at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, United States. A UFC Middleweight Championship bout between current champion Israel Adesanya and former Glory Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira headlined the event. The pairing previously met twice in kickboxing matchups. The first in April 2016 which Pereira won by unanimous decision. Their second meeting took place at Glory of Heroes 7 in March 2017, which Pereira won by third-round knockout.

A lightweight bout between Edson Barboza and former interim UFC Lightweight Championship challenger Kevin Lee served as the event headliner.

The Ultimate Fighter: Team Edgar vs. Team Penn Finale (also known as The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale) was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. It took place on July 6, 2014, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event was headlined by a third bout between former UFC Lightweight Champions Frankie Edgar and B.J. Penn. The two previously met at UFC 112 and again at UFC 118 with Edgar winning both fights via unanimous decision. Also featured on the card were the finals from The Ultimate Fighter: Team Edgar vs. Team Penn in middleweight and light heavyweight divisions.

UFC 205: Alvarez vs. McGregor is a mixed martial arts event promoted by the Ultimate Fighting Championship held on November 12, 2016 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. This event was the first UFC event hosted in New York City. It was also the first UFC event hosted in the state of New York after the longtime professional MMA ban was revoked in early 2016. The event was headlined by a UFC Lightweight Championship bout between then champion Eddie Alvarez and UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor.

UFC 200: Tate vs. Nunes was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship held on July 9, 2016, at the T-Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. This event suffered a major hit only three days before it happened, as it was announced that Jones was pulled out by USADA due to a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection on June 16. Cormier declared he would still fight if an opponent brought to him "made sense". It was announced that former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva would replace Jones on less than two days' notice and face Cormier in a three-round non-title light heavyweight bout. Due to those major changes, the already scheduled UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship bout between then champion Miesha Tate and top contender Amanda Nunes was revealed as the new main event.

UFC Fight Night 57: Edgar vs. Swanson was a mixed martial arts event held at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, on November 22, 2014. The card was headlined by a Featherweight bout between Cub Swanson and Frankie Edgar.

UFC 73: Stacked was a mixed martial arts (MMA) event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). It took place on July 7, 2007 at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California and featured a total of nine bouts: four on the preliminary card and five on the main card. The main event was Anderson Silva defending the UFC Middleweight Championship against Nathan Marquardt.

UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on May 23, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Quinton Jackson, former UFC Light Heavyweight champion, was to fight the undefeated current champion Rashad Evans but had to undergo arthroscopic surgery to repair ligament damage in his jaw that he received in a previous training camp. Instead, Evans headlined the card against fellow undefeated contender Lyoto Machida.

UFC 222: Cyborg vs. Kunitskaya is a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship held on March 3, 2018, at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, part of the Las Vegas metropolitan area.
