However, simply relaxing is easier said than done, because crime never sleeps and a new, very personal case throws a spanner in the works for Nick's plans for a well-deserved break. Berlin, A Polterabend (i.e. a party on the eve of a marriage) is taking place in a café. An American has persuaded his German friend to marry him, after just one month of knowing each other. But while Anke has decided to create a family for her and her baby, Bruce has reservations. The party's member consist of various immigrants that happened to be there, each with his own problems and Anke's mother who objects to the marriage and is expelled by her own daughter.

Self-proclaimed directing talent Cowboy comes to Berlin with the aim of finally making a big movie. He confidently accepts every assignment, only for it to lead to disaster. When Cowboy meets the artist Yps and shoots an art porn film with her, he stirs up an artistic can of worms that far exceeds his amateurish qualities.

Before long, past events catch up with them an unexpected sting in the tail reveals a major twist.

The film revolves around the development of the women's movement. Actors come together on stage and debate topics such as feminism, sexuality, gender performances, power structures, and activism, commenting on their own words. The film also provides insights behind the scenes and creates a fluid transition between the past and the present.

Prüfstand VII is a 2002 German docudrama film directed by Robert Bramkamp, about the V2 rocket and the rocket research in the Peenemünde Army Research Center. The film deals with the history of ideas surrounding the rocket research and the conquest of space, with Bianca as the spirit of the rocket guiding the viewer around different aspects of rocket research. It is partly inspired by Thomas Pynchon's novel Gravity's Rainbow and features dramatization of some selected scenes from the novel.
