Naomi Oda (Ryoko Hirosue) aspired to become a curator at an art gallery, but she currently works in a department store. Her job is to cater to VIP customers. She is not happy with her current position. One day, her friend since their college days, Kanako Hattori (Yuki Uchida) visits Naomi at her apartment. Kanako tells Naomi that she gets beaten by her husband Tatsuro. Her husband is an elite employee at a bank and lashes out at his wife when stressed. Naomi tells her friend to divorce her husband, but Kanako is worried that her husband would kill her if she did. Her husband's violent behavior controls Kanako. One day, Naomi happens to see a Chinese stowaway who looks just like Kanako's husband. This causes Naomi to think of a perfect plan to kill Kanako's husband. Naomi and Kanako soon carry out their plan.
"Girls" follows four beautiful women and depicts the troubles found in their love lives and work place. Yukiko Takigawa (Karina) works at a big advertising firm and has a good looking boyfriend. Seiko Takeda is married and has no children. She works at a large real estate company. Yoko Kosaka is a single woman working at a historic stationary company. Takako Hirai is a single mother who works for a car manufacturer.
Adapted from a sex-stuffed cult novel, LALAPIPO (a play on the phrase “A Lot of People”) follows divergent seedy strands of sexual and narrative spaghetti through the sticky Tokyo night. There’s a chubby freelance writer who’s so obsessed with masturbating to the sound of his upstairs neighbors going at it that he forgets to deal with his own love life and when he finally does have sex he is immediately filled with self-loathing. The upstairs neighbor’s story then splits off like an amoeba: she’s an office lady seduced by a “talent scout” who is falling down the sex industry ladder, moving from hostess, to massage girl, to private karaoke attendant. The talent scout’s story then splits off and runs in its own direction, revealing the sorry state of this young pimp’s soul. From there, the movie takes more and more time to consider the lives of more and more characters until the entire Japanese sex industry is filled with the wailing of lost souls.

Uehara Jiro, in the sixth year at elementary school, is from a family of five; his parents who are both ex-extremists, his elder sister and a younger sister. However, the island is in the midst of a row over a development plan to build resort facilities, and the family is sucked into the mayhem. Ichiro and his wife Sakura are arrested, but they break loose. They are forced to live a life as fugitives, and are unable to live with their children. The children, however, understand that their parents do not want to succumb to the establishment and support them.
