Weimarer Salon

A rare foray into the art world of Hong Kong since the city’s return to China, exploring the aftermath of an extended lockdown and a failed revolution, under the strictures of a rigorous security law. This documentary delves into the opening of the M+ Museum, designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron and enriched by the donation of Chinese contemporary art pieces from Swiss collector Uli Sigg. It examines the museum’s and the art scene’s contributions to the debate on Hong Kong’s future, unveiling a new generation of artists and offering an unprecedented perspective on this Asian metropolis in search of its identity.

Schaub and Schindelm’s documentary follows two Swiss star architects, Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron, on two very different projects: the national stadium for the Olympic summer games in Peking 2008 and a city area in the provincial town of Jinhua, China.

Roots

Since the beginning of the century, the medical couple UÄźur Ĺžahin and Ă–zlem TĂĽreci have been dedicated to the goal of individualizing cancer treatment. The company they founded, BioNTech, focuses on mRNA technology. One researcher who has been intensively involved in this field for some time is the Hungarian Katalin KarikĂł; Ugur Ĺžahin brought her to BioNTech a few years ago. The "m" in mRNA stands for "messenger," and RNA for ribonucleic acid. mRNA transmits the information for the production of an antigen to our cellular machinery, which produces proteins.
