So everyone is actually prepared to make a 99euro-film. but "99euro-films" is more. It is the proof that German films can also be wild, new, modern, funny, political and entertaining. And all that in 80 minutes. 12 young German filmmakers come together, inspire exciting young actors and go: have an idea and simply film it. Just do it and be independent.

15-year-old Elfie literally and metaphorically inhabits a no-man’s-land between the two Germanies shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The film deploys a neorealist aesthetic to reinforce the difficulties confronting the girl, and by inference, Germany.

IT specialist Victor Faber makes a living securing computers for large corporations and banks. His reclusive private life is upended when he falls in love with a strange woman named Juliet. Her friend convinces Faber to exploit his knowledge to rob a bank.

Axel and Karla are an ill-matched couple in a borderline situation. The two meet in the hospital. Axel is keeping watch at his son′s bedside and Karla is waiting for some sign of life from her sister. None of the doctors can tell them whether the young couple will come out of their comas after their serious accident. As the weeks of uncertainty, fear and tedium pass by, a peculiar relationship develops between Axel and Karla, sustaining both of them.

An ill man’s dying wish reunites four old friends.

Heidi M. is in her late forties and has a small store in the pulsating center of Berlin. She goes out in the evenings with her friend Jacqui, but when she is unexpectedly confronted with romantic love, old wounds are opened.

Alice, a political activist, has been found guilty of civil disobedience while taking part in an environmental protest and has been sentenced to community service in a psychiatric hospital. She has to look after Cam, who has been traumatised by a racist attack. When Cam refuses to extend her stay, Alice offers her the chance to move in with her. Cam begins to open up and Alice becomes increasingly fascinated.

Manfred drives a Jaguar around Berlin and chats up women. Manfred is car crazy. He covers 100 to 200 kilometres a day and James Dean adorns his wall at home. He’s owned an MG, a Triumph, an Alfa Romeo and a Porsche. Now he dreams of a Ferrari. Shot over two days and edited in two days – Ferrari is a film that puts the pedal to the metal.
