Reine is supposed to go to a summer camp called Children's Island but decides to remain in Stockholm over the summer while his mother is working at a hospital. She thinks he is at the camp, and he tells her he is. We then follow him around Stockholm that summer and see what he encounters on the path of life.

A musical romantic tragedy about a famous composer who moves back to his small hometown after having had heart troubles. His search for a simple everyday life leads him into teaching the local church choir, which is not easily accepted by the town yet the choir builds a great love for their teacher.

Sussie is 15, raised with her alcoholic mother and an absent father. She has lived in several foster homes. Now she gets one last chance with a new family, the Lindgren's who live in a large house by the sea.

About the artist Tamara de Lempicka. At the outbreak of the World War One she fled Poland and settled in Paris. She was quickly drawn into the interaction with Paris's cultural elite.

The film depicts contemporary conditions in Ådalen using documentary images, interviews, animated segments, still image montages, songs and music.
