In the summer of 1985, a young boy is found mysteriously drowned in the waters off Särsö. During a forbidden excursion to the legendary island of Svärtan, Johannes and his friends make a discovery that changes them forever.
Go behind the scenes of the TV series *Svärtan*. It follows a group of young people who discover an injured mermaid on an island in the archipelago. The series is based on the book *Sommaren 1985* by John Ajvide Lindqvist, a master at blending Swedish realism with the supernatural. Behind the scenes, an intensive effort is underway to create the mermaid and make her look authentic.
