A Man from Atlantis is a poetic documentary that follows Ricardo Montans, a legendary Argentine freediver who has spent much of his life underwater. Once a car mechanic in Buenos Aires with dreams of becoming an engineer, Montans abandoned dry land to descend into the depths — first as a maintenance diver, now as a freediver. In Honduras, where he founded the Freediving Caribbean School, won the 2023 Caribbean Cup and established depth records, he trains to dive beyond 100 meters on a single breath battling fear, silence, and the dreamlike pull of the deep. The film explores a life suspended between the two great human longings: to fly, and to breathe underwater.
