Here is the “Solos Ready-to-Wear” installation! Viewers stop at a specific spot on the sidewalk, hold out their hands, and receive the video directly into their outstretched palms. For each solo, there is a brand-new camera setup, a new outdoor filming location, and shots that offer a completely different perspective on the work. The installation will take over a shopping street; each video will be projected from a store or restaurant window, a way to honor the business owners who have been victims of the pandemic. A beam of light appears on the sidewalk. On the ground, a marker indicates the exact position the passerby must take to capture the images. Hands cupped like a dome allow one to catch the solo, to contemplate it. The digital becomes tangible and exhilarating. Poetic and intimate, an installation unfolds in the palm of the hand, at the heart of the city.
