Suraphon Thonawanik

A young and idealistic doctor is sent to a remote province in Thailand, where he finds that the residents lack access to public services, the district officer runs an illegal gambling house, and the officials are all corrupt.

A poor man named Klae encounters a young orphan with the same name as him. They both form an instant connection as both had been harassed by the mafia. The older Klae eventually finds work as a singer and eventually finds love.
