Biography
Viktor Chichaikin graduated from the Ogarev Mordovia State University in 1999, majoring in acting and national culture. His teachers noted him as a talented student, possessing a vibrant emotionality, musicality, and flexibility. He plays the piano, guitar, and percussion instruments, and is a singer-songwriter. He began his musical career at the age of 14 in the band "Altair." Bakich Vidiaj performed in student productions of "Uncle Vanya" by Anton Chekhov (Serebryakov), "The Stone Guest" (Don Juan), and "The Mermaid" by Alexander Pushkin (Prince), "Time of Love" by Vladimir Katayev (Igor), and in folk productions of "Mastorava" (Shaityan) and "Ermez" (Stadan vany). He worked as an actor at the Mordovia National Theater, as an arranger at the TS Production recording studio, and as a sound engineer at the Mordovia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. He often uses folk instruments to record his albums; his song list exceeds 200. Bakich Vidyay tours not only within Mordovia but also abroad. He performs songs in Eryazan and Russian. He has participated in numerous music festivals in the Republic of Mordovia, including the Interregional Festival of Mordovian Folklore and Arts and Crafts "Mastoravan Morot" ("Songs of Mother Earth"), the Mordovian Pop Song Festival "Od Viy" ("New Power"), and the Republican Folk Art Review "Shumbrat, Mordovia!". He writes music for theater and film. In 2017, the first film in the Erzya language, “Azor,” was shot in Mordovia with public donations, directed and composed by Bakich Vidiay
