Meanwhile, Betina's father, Frank Jensen, starts working in the estate's woods, and when the two girls come to visit him, he is shocked by the resemblance between the young countess and Betina's mother Marta.

Tine is in love with the young owner of a beautiful castle, Karsten. She has been dreaming about the castle since she was a small child and visiting her auntie, who is a neighbor to the castle. But an evil plot has been made to take the castle from Karsten.

Two brothers, Ras and Jan, have always been together during the long training to become jet pilots in the Danish Airforce. They both join squadron 793, where they will serve on active duty under the the young and very energetic squadron leader, Captain Tom Jessen.

The Danish resistance movement stepped up its activities towards the end of the war. One night, an English agent arrives by plane, is injured and is taken in by local resistance fighters. The agent and the resistance fighters plan actions against the Germans, but there must be a traitor among them, because the Germans are always very close by.

The two leading actors form a team traveling round performing as a professional dancing couple who has difficulty making ends meet. Ebbe Rode is the dreamer and Bodil Kjer the down to earth realist. Bodil Kjer expands her image to encompass the disillusioned woman reflecting the hard life she has gone through. Ebbe Rodes disappointed optimism turn into violence with dramatic consequences.

The old doctor, Dr. Bonnesen, is a tired old man. He wants to sell his practice and has been corresponding with the young doctor Jens Winther. Jens arrives in Fjorslev to discuss a possible takeover of Bonnesen's practice and his patients. Bonnesen's beautiful young housekeeper, Anne Mette Krogh, welcomes him. Bonnesen takes a liking to Jens Winther and makes him an offer he cannot refuse.

A whirlwind romance between a Danish storeclerk and an American G.I. in Copenhagen takes them to a dance club base for prostitutes, whom she befriends and whose pimp he antagonizes.

German sailor Peter Hille arrives in Copenhagen to see his beloved Hannah. But she has died in childbirth, leaving Peter with an eight-month-old baby. The young father is left with the entire burden of caring for the child. But he would never have been able to cope with his worries if the ordinary people he encounters had not helped him.

Tove Andersen's problem ends in Christianshavn's moat, and this is where the film begins. The body has a noose around its neck. The homicide division is called in, and it turns out that shortly before her death, she had undergone an illegal operation. An unscrupulous womanizer had abandoned the young student from the countryside when the relationship had consequences. The doctor rejects her after a beautiful lecture on the sanctity of life, and she must therefore rely on "private" help.

Hans and Mona decide to give their spouses something to think about by getting caught in a compromising situation during a joint vacation. To lighten the somewhat awkward mood, they decide to seek help in the bar cabinet, where they mix a potent cocktail that they name Green Elevator. It marks the beginning of a cheerful evening.

Bank director L.W. Jacobsen resides in a small provincial town. He is not particularly interested in his wife, Elsebeth, but rather in teacher and city council member Miss Mortensen. Thorsen, the town's manufacturer, is a member of the same city council group as Jacobsen. Then Don Olsen comes to town. Olsen is not interested in the upper class, but rather in people. By chance, Thorsen and Olsen meet and soon become drinking buddies. Thorsen drags the milkman's horse home to his apartment in the middle of the night. The scandal is a reality. Thorsen wants to flee, but with Olsen's help, he instead woos the townspeople and Miss Mortensen under the motto "Make good times better."

Two rival young men both desire the merchant's pretty daughter, a bad young man robs the merchant's safe and blames it on "mother-in-law's dream", a worldly-wise grandmother directs the battle of love from her living room, and a couple of silly railway workers spread song and joy.

Olaf Ussing is the old chamberlain who lives in the castle with his three unmarried daughters – Malene Schwartz, Lone Hertz and Mimi Heinrich. On the neighbouring estate lives Poul Reichhardt, a wealthy bachelor with a butler – festively played by Ole Monty. A couple of dubious suitors for the lovely young ladies are Preben Neergaard and Preben Mahrt – and a former admirer is Henning Palner.
