Biography
Samuel Lawrence Lopez Concepcion (born October 17, 1992) is a Filipino singer; dancer; TV, film, and theater actor; VJ; and host. In April 2006, Concepcion won the Big Division in the first season of Little Big Star. Concepcion began with 12 theater roles and participated in plays at a young age, including Edmund Pevensie in the local adaptation of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, and in Mr. Noah's Big Boat. He also played Peter Pan from 2002 to 2012. The year after his Little Big Star win, Stages and Trumpets Playshop Inc. staged their very own Manila stage adaptation of Disney's High School Musical, where Concepcion starred as Troy Bolton. DreamWorks also chose him to sing the theme song of Kung Fu Panda, entitled "Kung Fu Fighting", which was included in the Asian soundtrack album. With this project, Concepcion is the first Filipino artist to have collaborated with DreamWorks. In 2022, he received his fourth Aliw Awards nomination for Best Lead Actor in a Musical in Joseph the Dreamer. In 2024, he played the lead role of Popoy in the jukebox musical adaptation of the 2007 Filipino romantic drama film, One More Chance.
