Mr Basse – a cheerful, if somewhat lazy fellow – reluctantly shows up at the employment agency. It soon transpires that he is no good at selling newspapers. Dejected, he is on his way home when he happens to pass by a construction site just as the bricklayers are going on strike. Basse immediately eyes an opportunity to make a bit of money: ignoring the protests of the workmen, he has no problem with becoming a blackleg. An aging doorman, after being fired from his prestigious job at a luxurious hotel, is forced to face the scorn of his friends, neighbours and society.
Pat and Patachon live in the attic of an old house along with a number of other curious kinds of people. One of the residents is a fortune teller, who tells Patachon that he will inherit a fortune and marry one of the two sweet choir girls who live next door, and whom he happens to be in love with. The two friends don’t think much more of it and instead head off to work, as models for a tailor. They stroll through the streets in sharp suits, in the hopes that the two choir girls will see them and think that they’re wealthy men, who simply live in the run-down house to study the bohemian lifestyle.
Detective Barker has his work cut out for him when his red-haired nanny, Kate Blond, turns out to be a master thief in disguise. Barker’s close friends are a wealthy count and countess who has recently purchased a valuable piece of jewellery at an auction. With a poisoned sewing needle, Kate knocks the countess out and steals the jewellery. She sets the countess’ clock back an hour so the nanny-job is a bulletproof alibi when Barker investigates the case. Barker is at a loss until his trained eyes spot a red hair at the crime scene. The merchant Blomberg is out in the countryside with his daughters and housekeeper when the idyll is suddenly shattered. The daughters head off to have fun with two young guys from Copenhagen who are on a road trip, and the vagabonds Pat and Patachon seize the chance to interfere for their own gain. The preserved material is the original Swedish version titled 'Landsvägsriddare', translated to 'Tyvepak' in Danish. The film was a huge economic success to the then Swedish owned production company Palladium. It is the first film, in which Pat and Patachon appear as a team, although not in their final constellation: As always, Pat is played by Carl Schenstrøm, whereas Patachon is embodied by Aage Bendixen instead of Harald Madsen. There is another 'Tyvepak' from 1915, which is directed by Lau Lauritzen Sr. as well. This film is a heavily revised version of the 1915-film. (stumfilm.dk)

The attic of a city house is the home to a colony of artists. Among them is a writer, whose corpus is larger than her output. We also meet a hard-of-hearing poet who can still hear the grass growing. There's a painter, a sculptor and more. All are penniless - hoping that one day they will experience their breakthrough. "The Seventh Heaven", as the corridor is called, also houses two prominent residents, Fyrtårnet and Bivognen. They have set up a small diner and engage lively with the artist from the colony.
In a boarding house in the city live our friends Pat and Patachon, who have settled down in relative comfort for a modest sum of money. In the room next door lives an old inventor, a good friend of Pat and Patachon's. He’s been working on a television set for some time now, and it seems that his efforts will bear fruit. Patachon has caught the inventing bug and wants to come up with smokeless and noiseless gunpowder. All the while, Pat becomes increasingly worried about his friend. Two shady gentlemen are now attempting to steal the valuable drawings for the television invention, and Pat and Patachon become suspects in the case. Fortunately, the real thieves are caught, and Patachon gets the opportunity to demonstrate his ingenious invention.

Young Jörgen Steenfeld is the heir of it over the chimney-indebted estate Steensgaard and unable to clear up its finances. He is being looked after by his old friend, "Mästerkatten", ie the enterprising, charming but somewhat irreplaceable Karl Konstantin Kattrup, who has been relegated from the university. Kattrup, involved as a manager at Steensgaard. Steenfeld receives visits by county governor Markdanner and her daughter Rose. The Countess is planning a marriage between Rose and Jörgen, but Jörgen is secretly in love with the orphan Helga Anthon, called Pips. The conditions are further complicated by the appearance of Kattrup and Rose.
While enjoying a glorious summer’s day at the beach, Pat and Patachon meet the beautiful Mona, whom they both fall in love with. However, they’re soon given something else to think about when they’re drafted into the armed forces and sent to a cantonment. The two friends struggle to find their place among the other soldiers, and they get into all sorts of escapades. One day, fate lends a helping hand when the company take up residence on a farm in North Zealand, where the two friends discover, to their delight, that this is where Mona lives. (stumfilm.dk)
A Swedish comedy from 1937. At castle Gyllenskiöld Holm a lawyer reads the deceased Count's will. Son Rouglas inherits the estate in front of Anne-Marie, Countess's daughter and the woman whom the testator had hoped to Rouglas would marry. But there is a supplement in the will to be read out after six months.
The poor landowner Don Quixote is obsessed with chivalric romances. One day he gets the idea that he must restore the order of the wandering knights and even ride out on horseback in full gear. He persuades a simple peasant Sancho Panza to act as a weapon bearer with a promise of royal rewards. Director Jessen lives with his sons Fritz and Jørgen in a country house on the coast of Øresund. One day, Jessen announces that his boss is coming to visit from Australia, and that he will bring along his daughter, Alice. Jessen further proclaims that he wants one of his sons to marry Alice. Full of prejudice against Australians, Fritz and Jørgen end up drawing lots to determine who must accept this terrible fate. Upon arriving in Denmark, Alice decides to send her friend Elsie ahead to the country house to take the measure of the two fellows and report back to her. She pretends to be Alice, and to complicate things further, Fritz and Jørgen have in the meantime hired two strange vagabonds, Pat and Patachon, to pretend to be them, hoping that this will make her turn around and leave immediately. The rental barracks ‘The Seventh Heaven’ is a small world in itself. Strong Ole, Red Lotte and Lise Holm, who works at the chocolate factory, live here. The two friends, Fy and Bi, come wandering along the country road as so many times before without a destination and - without food. Hunger torments them, and they stop with wide eyes at a bakery truck, whose back door is open and opens the view to sumptuous trays of pastries and mayor's bars. However, they get a long nose and wander on to an old castle, where they seek accommodation for the night. In the castle cellar they open a book - and immediately they are back in the exciting events and deadly battles of the 15th century. And again we are back in the castle cellar, where Fy now with a bang closes the dusty, old book, and the two set out on the country road again.
When the modest butcher’s wife becomes a wealthy landowner, it immidiately goes to her head. With her new stuck-up attitude, she rejects the long-time butcher’s apprentice when he asks for her daughter’s hand in marriage. Fortunately, the poor butcher’s apprentice is friends with Pat and Patachon, who work in a circus and have experience with clownery.
