A game as old as time faded into the ashes of youth. Travel through this three-part memory as a young boy discovers the decay of his grandfather as they take part in an old game of Chinese chess. With every move he makes, he takes a step closer towards realising the extent of time. This film will explore themes of love, loss and what it really means to grow old in an optimistic way
The story tells of Alif who is forced to return to his village a week before Raya to look after his grandmother. Alif, who is already accustomed to city life, finds it difficult to live in the village when there is nothing special for him there. His boredom begins to change when he meets Zek, a village girl who works at a grocery store. He starts making video recordings to post on his social media.
