...1949. Baulin, a school principal in a small Moldovan town, is summoned at night to the district party committee. He is tasked with leading a group that is carrying out an action in the area to evict so-called fascist collaborators. We will see only a day in the life of the main character. Beginning of the 1920s. 1925. Soviet power arrives in the remote Karakalpak villages. During this time, the dzhigit Turumbet and the beautiful Jumagul fall in love with each other. However, after the wedding, the young wife leaves her husband’s home, unwilling to accept the Old Testament way of life of her husband's family. 1989. The former Captain of the Soviet Army Saidulla lives alone in a small house. His son lives in the same village but he does not associate with his father and does not permit the grandson to have contact with his grandfather. He often has a vision: he is visited by an old army friend. He looks exactly the same as he saw him alive for the last time – in the uniform and with an automat-ic gun. Once during a medical check-up Saidulla learns that he has cancer. He does not have much time left but he has to solve the most important problems: provide water-supply for the school, make it up with his son and pay a visit to his former colleague.

An Afghan officer, discharged from service due to injury, enters into a fight against the mafia and, in the end, exposes the criminals at the cost of his own life...

The film features several important aspects of changing the human's nature: behind the prison walls, in society and in the family.

A remote Uzbek village is ravaged by a merciless drought. The desperate inhabitants resort to ancient rituals in an attempt to alter their cruel fate. However, for some individuals the suffering goes even deeper: Usman, an ousted journalist who now works as a teacher, has written an article about the rape of an underaged female student. Instead of justice being served, the crime is covered up. Even worse: Hozhar, the student in question, is not permitted to leave her house, on the orders of her father, while Usman is arrested for defamation and thrown in jail. Ahbor, the film's protagonist, a high-ranking civil servant who recently quit his job, heeds his old university friend's call for help and travels to the village, where he attempts everything in his power to restore both the girl's honour and that of his friend.

A psychologist, Umida strives to help people in her everyday life, while living with recurring dreams about Mount Fuji. The interplay between dreams and reality gradually reveals her inner search, psychological state, and process of self-understanding.
