Seventy-six-year-old Elvira lives alone, finding comfort in the glow of her television. When news of a cockroach infestation sparks panic, she turns her home into a fortress of insecticide. But as a strange, viscous substance begins to thrive on the poison, the boundary between the infestation and Elvira’s own decay starts to blur.
A frustrated jazz trumpeter rehearsing for an audition accidentally awakens an invisible ghost with the power to manipulate sound. The ghost promises to turn him into a virtuoso in exchange for his help unearthing an ancient treasure buried deep in the mountains. But what begins as a great deal soon becomes a dangerous adventure leading toward a dark secret.
