Klovn is a Danish sitcom, which first aired on the Danish TV channel TV2 Zulu. It focuses on the life of the main character Frank and Casper. The show builds its comedy around quiet everyday situations, social awkwardness, uncomfortable silences and general faux pas. Klovn usually gets compared to the American sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm by Larry David. It’s also shot handheld, in a pseudo-realistic style. Some have also mistakenly compared the theme to Curb Your Enthusiasm’s, despite it being a direct reference to Jacques Tati’s Mr. Hulot movies. The poster for the first film can be seen in Casper and Frank’s offices throughout the series. Klovn initially ran 6 seasons on TV2 Zulu from 2005-2009 and was renewed with an additional 3 seasons that aired from 2018-2022.

The film is a comedy about Rasmus and Frederik, two Danish men in their 30s, who head out on a business venture. They know each other from a boarding school back in Denmark and none of them have really been successful in life so far. Now they meet, 15 years later, both keen to set up a dog breeding centre. The two partners have learned that so-called luxury dogs are extremely popular among the Chinese upper class and therefore expect this to be their way into fast and overwhelming wealth in China. A 200 plus lb St. Bernard dog by the name of Dollar travels with them to Chongqing. Here they meet up with the mysterious Mr. Liu who owns the largest bakery in Western China and who believes that dogs are as powerful as humans. Soon, the dog business evolves in unexpected ways, while the friendship between the two Danes grows stronger.

Den 11. time
8.0

Den 11. time was a Danish television talkshow on DR2. It aired at 23:00 on DR2 weekly on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The show was hosted by Mikael Bertelsen, and his editor, Mads Brügger would occasionally step in as host for a given programme. Den 11. time included guests such as the then-Danish Minister of Culture, Brian Mikkelsen, but also had foreign guests such as Phillip Blond or even Mikhail Gorbachev, who stated in a letter to the presenters that it was one of the most interesting interviews he ever did. Sometimes the programme would air live, but other times it would be pre-recorded, often to be able to get the subtitles on for non-Danish guests. Though, at times an interpreter in the studio provided the translations. It last broadcast on 21 May 2008, despite large popularity.
