A badger is lying motionless on a local road. A police patrol approaches the body in the dark. They soon realise that the animal is not dead; the badger is dead drunk! When the police attempt to drag the creature off the road, he wakes up and things take a strange turn.

When Dane returns from the army, Vera awaits him at the station, ready to live together with him. Yet beneath the veil of enthusiasm lies anxiety for their future. State security inspector Ivan reveals an inserted terrorists in Yugoslavia, sent there by Croatian emigrants, enemies of the above socialist state. Their mission is to select the appropriate places on Adriatic coast which they would later blow up. The terrorists are expected to set a series of explosions that would cause a public disturbance and uncertainty in the Yugoslavia's position in Europe. Ivan follows Pavle and Elsa who are staying in Croatia as tourists, stepping into action in a crucial moment.
"So it has come to this..." is certainly the most common closing thought of three couples of different generations who each find themselves facing new challenges in life. Marija and Štefan are pensioners who often almost kill each other out of boredom. Darja and Tomaž are a middle-aged couple whose only son went to study abroad. Nika and Matic are a young couple who have just started their journey together. Nika is dominant and very disciplined, while Matic is a dreamer and an artistic soul. Which, of course, is the reason for many arguments.
