What's much worse is that Hoffi has got it into his head to get a birthday present for his sister on this beautiful summer's day of all days, when you could actually be relaxing in the park with a crate of beer. The two lovable slobs embark on an odyssey through the city, at the end of which they lose sight of the present but have found their dream girls.
Produced and directed by seven Munich Film School students, Honolulu takes place not in Hawaii, but inside of a rural town just outside of Munich, Germany. Several vignettes, lasting approximately 10 to 15 minutes each, are connected by one of the town’s public bus routes, outside of which two men booze the night away while waiting for the bus to make its rounds.
Shy medical student Milla stumbles across a medieval manuscript from the time of the witch hunts while researching for a presentation: The Bible of Blood. Together with three fellow students, she starts experimenting with the text - with extremely deadly consequences: Because "The Bible of Blood" actually seems to have the power to make her most secret wishes come true. But they have also unleashed a dark power. The inconspicuous students become sex-obsessed beasts who will walk over dead bodies...
The doctors' verdict at the medical examination is gloomy: if there were another war in Europe, we would be hopelessly lost. Daredevil "Rocky" and gentle Benjamin are really not fit for military service. Perhaps the boys will prove themselves in the old people's home. Sister Ellen turns the civilians' heads straight away, but the senior citizens of the Marienstift expect their full commitment. Hermann, in particular, gets them involved. The grumpy old man suspects that director MĂĽller wants to convert the convent into a luxury home and make everyone homeless... The fact that young and old have to stick together - and can! -is proven by this witty, entertaining comedy.
