Kartik (Prashant) on his way to attend a close friend Anand's (Anand), marriage sets eyes on Lakshmi (Kausalya) at a bus stop and falls for her. He with his friends reach the village and Kartik to his delight finds Lakshmi there. He sends her a love letter (as in the title) and then to his horror discovers that Lakshmi was the intended bride of Anand. The matter becomes public, with the whole village going in search of the anonymous letter writer. The scenes where Kartik's friends (Vivek, Damu, Vyapuri) ae mistaken for the senders of the letter and get a sound thrashing in turn, gives some comic relief. The marriage is meanwhile over and it is time to leave. And then Kartik comes out with his confession and makes a public apology to his friend and the family. His gesture is appreciated, the matter settled and the newly weds return to the city.

Ponnar Shankar is based on historical novel written by Kalangir M. Karunanidhi. Story is about the two warriors, both are brothers named Ponner and Sankar living in Kongu Nadu (present day Coimbatore, Erode etc..). This is a historical movie and these two warriors are even worshipped today at most of the above mentioned part of Tamil Nadu.

Sanjay and Nithi are best friends since childhood. Soon, Sanjay realises that he is in love with Nithi but does not confess his feelings as he fears it would break their friendship.

A young man moves to his hometown; here he falls in love with the village head's daughter. The village head learns about this and he has the girl abducted; if the young man tries to rescue her, his parent's life will be at stake.

Siva goes to London to work but ends up joining a gang led by Kathir. When they are deceived after a bank robbery, Siva is forced to hide in an aged couple's house posing as their grandson.

Murthy (Prashanth) earns his living taking the blame for the mistakes of other people and the jail is his second home. Dhanushkodi (Raghuvaran) has sworn to kill ex-collector Ramanathan's (Vijayakumar) son and so, Ramanathan has transferred his son Santosh (Pravinkanth) to Mauritius while telling the world that he has ran away. Wishing to save his son, he hires Murthy to act as his long lost son, hoping that Dhanushkodi would kill him instead of his actual son. Murthy too accepts the gig since his lover Preeti (Jyotika) is Ramanathan's niece. In the climax, Santhosh supports Dhanushkodi for killing his father, But Dhanushkodi kills Santhosh. The film ends with Murthy taking the blame for killing Santhosh and surrenders himself to police.

Prashanth and Preeti are madly in love with each other. When her father opposes their relationship, they decide to fight against all odds to unite.

Vishwa spends his time hanging out with Anandham to avoid his mother, who always quarrels with his dad. To find peace, he plays tricks on others. Among the victims is Jothi. The story moves to London, where Vishva visits Princess Diana's grave and leaves a beautiful poem behind. At the same time, Jothi too visits the grave and leaves a note after reading the poem. Then begins a warm relationship between Jothi and Vishwa without seeing each other. Whether the two are united form the rest of the story.

It is based on Perumthachan of the Parayi Petta Panthirukulam, a legend in the Kerala folklore. The problems caused by the generation gap are explored through the relationship between a skilled carpenter and his tradition-breaking son.

Chocklet is a 2001 Tamil film directed by A. Venkatesh featuring Prashanth and Jaya Re in the lead roles. Livingston, Suhasini, Mumtaj and Nagendra Prasad play supporting roles, while the film's score and soundtrack are composed by Deva.

Mambattiyan is a 2011 Tamil action film directed by Thiagarajan, starring his son Prashanth as the titular character. The film, also starring Meera Jasmine, Prakash Raj, Vadivelu and Mumaith Khan in other pivotal roles, is a remake of the 1983 Tamil blockbuster of the same title that starred Thiagarajan himself and Saritha

Shivan an aspiring designer's hopes crash when he lands up with the responsibility of looking after his mother and younger brothers with his father's sudden death. Kannedhirey Thondrinal (transl. She appeared before my eyes) is a 1998 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Ravichandran. The film stars Prashanth and Simran. The film's score and soundtrack were composed by Deva. The film's success later led to remakes in other languages as well.

Shankar(Prashanth) is a graduate of BSC nautical science, waiting for a job in the shipping industry. He is a tenant in the house of Banu(Simran), who is his good friend and confidante. They spend almost all their time together and she seeks him out as a refuge from her step brother Panneer(Raghuvaran), whom she dislikes but is forced to live together with. Shankar falls in love with Sarika(Laila). She reciprocates but problems and misunderstandings plague their romance.
