Five shorts reveal a fictional Hong Kong in 2025, depicting a dystopian city where residents and activists face crackdowns under iron-fisted rule.

Abandoned by her mother, Xiaofei, a positive and cheerful girl, encounters a "Wish Come True Machine" that can fulfil people's wishes, and forms a bond with a young man named Wai who suffers from a rare disease. While Xiaofei is finding the lost lover of Wai, they discover that the new medicine for treating his illness is ineffective. Though hit hard by fate, they hold on to the only things they can: hope and each other.

Gun is a loan shark. Having worked hard for years, i.e. intimidating and threatening his debtors, he musters just enough money to purchase a house for the family. The plan is at risk, however, when one of his debtors dies and Gun discovers that he is not the only creditor. Out of desperation, he asks for his daughter’s help, who is unwilling to be involved in her father’s shady business. The simmering tension causes a rift in the family.

Aging is not all doom and gloom but can be super-duper fun. In a village far, far away from the city live a zany group of elderlies. Old Chap is a Chinese medicine doctor without a single patient, lascivious Old Ben is wheelchair-bound and confined in the village, while Moses the spiritual “flower child” always tries to connect with Mother Nature. When Chiara, Old Chap's granddaughter, appears suddenly as she decides to take a gap year from studying and turns Old Chap’s life upside down by putting on a pole dance show in his clinic, how will Old Chap reconcile with the shock of the new?

A group of fellow protestors must race against time to find her before it is too late. After an emotionally exhausting hunt, Lai is found at the top of a building preparing to jump off...

Japanese band Aomori Hensou is the only thing that makes Mei Bo feels alive in this mundane city until she meets Lily, her new neighbour. It happens that Lily is also a huge fan of the band so they start to get along with each other like twin sisters. They wander around the city, from second-hand CD shops, to goldfish market, and other secret spots that nobody knows. Lily eventually gets tired of the excitement from Mei Bo and starts exploring the city on her own. One day Lily appears at the door of Mei Bo’s home together with the news of the break up announcement of their favourite band, but there is only an empty room left in front of her.
