Manasukkul Mathappu (English: Fireworks In My Heart) is a 1988 Tamil drama film starring Prabhu Ganesan, Saranya Ponvannan and Sarath Babu. The story is very loosely based on the English novel "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". It is a remake of the blockbuster 1986 Mohanlal starrer Malayalam film "Thalavattam", which was directed by Priyadarshan.

The movie shows a true to life story related to a common run Indian family, where the esteem of a family is held in high regard. The story is an exemplary portrayal of the liabilities of a responsible father, obligations of a dutiful son, role of a virtuous wife and harmony in the family unified by psychological bonds.

Sivanna (Arjun) and Lakshmi (Swati) are siblings. Their parents die when they were kids. Sivanna took the entire responsibility of raising his sister. Lakshmi falls in love with Ajay (Srinath). Sivanna marry off his sister to Ajay. But Ajay's family member is against to this marriage. When Ajay leaves abroad for an assignment, family of Ajay plots a conspiracy on Lakshmi and accuses her of having an extramarital affair with the car driver.Ajay believes in his mother and starts abusing Lakshmi. When Sivanna comes to know about it, he offers to take her back to his home. But she refuses. The rest of the film is all about how Sivanna finds out evidence to prove the innocence of his sister.

Bhupathi's father sends him to live under the guidance of his best friend, Viswanath, and find a job. He gets close to the family and falls in love with Viswanath's daughter, who is already engaged.

When his owner left the bungalow on vacation, Nachiappan's daughters decide to live there. Then, Nachiappan rents his owner's top portion bungalow to Thirupathi, Ezhumalai and Venkatesa who lied about their job.
