After picking up his chronically ill younger sister from the hospital, Nick gets a flat tyre and the two are left stranded in the Australian outback. Jean, deteriorating, insists on finding another way home, but Nick is determined to repair the car as he had stolen it from their father. This clash ignites buried grievances, and Nick must overcome his insecurities in order to get Jean the medical care she needs.
