Biography
Luis Romero (born December 19, 2003) is a Filipino alternative filmmaker based in Manila. He began studying film in 2022 as a Communication major specializing in Digital Cinema at Far Eastern University (FEU). Before pursuing filmmaking, he spent a year as a member of the FEU Theater Guild, where he served as part of the Technical Committee as a music operator and also performed as an actor. Romero was recognized as Video Editor of the Year at the 2024 Tamaraw Media Awards. His experimental short film "Where the Machine Sleeps" received Best Direction and a Special Jury Mention at the FEU Film Society’s 19th General Assembly 2025: Beyond Human. His films employ poetic imagery and restrained emotion that often drift into the philosophical and the dreamlike, exploring the ways faith and introspection shape the human experience.
