Avila, early twentieth century. Pedro, a boy of nine years, accompanied by his tutor, comes to live in the house of Don Mateo, a teacher that from that moment will be responsible for his education. Based on Miguel Delibes novel. Rafael Corral, socialist member, decide to attend to the funeral of a friend although they had recomended him not to go for politic reasons. He finds there some friends and talking with them makes him to change his mind.

Spain, March 1964: Quico is a very naughty child of three belonging to a wealthy middle-class family.
